Join us as we take the all new 2021 Honda N One RS second generation now finally available with the world’s first 6 speed manual in a Front Wheel drive ‘Kei Car’. This diminutive 660cc engine comes with a intercooler turbo with VVT with maximum torque at a low 2600rpm making it loads of fun to drive on the streets or on the ‘touge’. With only 860kg to move around and wheels right on the corners, there is virtually almost no overhang. Turning into corners is unlike any car making it a literal Go Kart that happens to sit 4 passengers comfortable and tow some shopping.
The Honda ‘N’ Series has been Honda’s best seller with the last generation and the very popular N Box. Quality and equipment is almost equivalent to cars in higher categories with Honda Sensing coming standard as well as 4 SRS Airbags, lots of amenities while feeling quiet and comfortable. The second generation retains much of its predecessor’s cute but sharp exterior, the design and lineage itself coming from the Honda’s original Front drive passenger car from the 70s, the N360. With a completely redesigned platform and engine, the N series is stiffer and better performing than before.
The version you see here is borrowed from Spoon Sports, who have promptly started to do tuning on this next generation compact fun filled sporty hatch. As an ongoing development prototype, we can expect to see some extra performance from this platform. In part 2 we will dive deeper into the parts changed and how it improves on an already good platform.
