In the absence of a genuine M Division variant for this latest-generation X3 SUV, the M50 xDrive specification currently sits atop of the range. After driving it for nearly a week, I can wholeheartedly say that it should make for an amazing purchase. But it depends on where you live.
Before we get into all that, let’s look at the X3 as a whole, because very few compact SUVs have evolved as much as the X3 over multiple generations. I have somewhat of a special connection to this model range. I remember driving the first-generation X3 (E83) back when it was first updated in late 2006 for the 2007 model year.
