New Suzuki Jimny Pickup : A Revolution in the Pickup World! what do you think?
Only the Hyundai Santa Cruz, made in the United States, and the Ford Maverick, made in Mexico, are available as tiny pickup trucks in the American market at the moment. After a long hiatus, Hyundai’s Santa Cruz four-door compact pickup truck has brought new life to the US compact pickup truck category. The vehicle is based on the Tucson crossover SUV and has a unibody chassis architecture; HMMA in Montgomery, Alabama is responsible for manufacturing. It resembles a crossover SUV with a removable bed and is closely similar to the fourth-generation NX4 Tucson.
It wasn’t, however, an isolated incident. Ford also came up with a competitor, the Maverick, in an effort to break sales records in another truck sector; the vehicle was an instant hit. Its appeal can be explained by its low price tag (thanks to its Mexican production) and its sturdy build (inherited from the Ranger and F-150 trucks, not the Bronco Sport and Escape crossovers), both of which contribute to its affordability.
Unfortunately, not one of them is particularly “compact.” The Hyundai Santa Cruz, which will receive a makeover at the 2024 New York International Auto Show along with its Tucson SUV variant, is 4,970 mm (195.7 in) long, and the Ford Maverick is even longer at 5,072 mm 199.7 in. Therefore, maybe someone should explain to them, if only in the realm of fantasy for those who make digital automotive material, what a small pickup truck actually is.
To be more specific, the internet sensation known as Theottle has lately turned to computer-generated imagery (CGI) to transform the Suzuki Jimny into a “little” pickup truck. Nevertheless, the pixel master incorporated some Jeep Gladiator DNA into the virtual makeover process; the larger wheelbase of the tiny Japanese SUV was a natural match for its rough and boxy look.
What would you pick if Suzuki returned to the US with this instead of the chic Santa Cruz or the tough Ford Maverick? Would this Jimny pickup truck be a good substitute for bigger models like the Ford Ranger or the Chevrolet Montana if Suzuki were to introduce it to the global market?
