Over the years we’ve driven plenty of Cadillac Escalades, starting back with the 2018 model year which kicked off our new car coverage here on PRN_TestDrive. This week Nile is taking a look at the most recent version, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum 4WD. This full-size luxury SUV gets a facelift for 2025 and we go over the big changes, and why this is such an important update for this nameplate. First off we discuss the second row of seats, getting the first major package in the Escalade’s 25 year run. The 2nd Row Executive Package is a $8,625 CAD ($7,500 USD) option with late 2025 availability, which will add 14 way power seats with heat, ventilation, and massage, a fixed centre console with dual wireless phone chargers, 2 USB-C ports, and an 8″ command center screen which gives rear passengers control over climate and other utilities.
Up front you’ll notice the new pillar to pillar 55″ HD infotainment cluster media screen. Nile goes over how the entire unit works and who benefits from it, along with the changes to the centre console and control area. A new 8″ command center is also available for the front passengers, controlling things like climate, lighting, door locks, cameras, and more.
Outside the Escalade gets a big front end update inspired from the CELESTIQ and LYRIQ EVs, and the new adaptive LED lighting unit from the Escalade IQ. A new welcome animation for the front and rear lights accentuate the luxury factor of the Escalade.
Nile then hits the road to go over all the important info he found during the week he had this Escalade, including fuel economy, comfort, performance, value, and Super Cruise. The Escalade’s price has increased significantly since we featured it in 2018, so we discuss how it stacks up and if we still think its the king of the luxury SUV segment.
