This week I’ve been living with one of my dream cars — the Suzuki Jimny. But this isn’t the familiar UK version. This is a Japanese import, sourced by Checkpoint Specialist Cars in Wrexham, and it shows the Jimny in its best light. The Japanese market received higher specification models than we ever did here in Britain, and unusually for our market, this one features four usable seats.
If you want to enquire about this Jimny or others like it, you can contact Checkpoint Specialist Cars directly through my personal link here:

Let me know what you think — would you pick this higher-spec import, or wait and see what the five-door offers?
What makes this example even more interesting is the work Checkpoint have done to elevate it further. The interior has been completely retrimmed in leather by Trimtechnik, there’s a new touchscreen system fitted, and the car is accessorised throughout — almost like the Jimny that Suzuki should have built from factory. It gives you the rugged charm we all love, but with noticeably more polish and daily usability.
After spending a week driving it, parking it, using it as a daily, and taking a close look around, I’m left with a big question: is now finally the time I buy a Jimny? Or do I hold out a little longer for the anticipated five-door version?
