Per secoli i samurai hanno rappresentato il temibile ramo militare dell’aristocrazia giapponese. Addestrati e istruiti fin dalla giovane età, divennero formidabili guerrieri al servizio del loro signore o daimyo. Erano alcuni dei migliori combattenti che il mondo avesse mai visto ed erano rinomati per il codice d’onore a cui aderivano… per la maggior parte.
Alcuni samurai erano potenti e diventati essi stessi daimyo, trovando poi il proprio samurai da assumere come servitori. Alcuni di loro divennero persino shogun, i potenti dittatori che governavano il paese. Con una storia così lunga e varia, non potremmo mai coprire completamente la portata delle loro gesta in un solo video, ma daremo un’occhiata ad alcuni dei samurai più famosi che abbiano mai brandito una katana.
For centuries, the samurai represented the fearsome military branch of the Japanese aristocracy. Trained and educated from a young age, they became formidable warriors in the service of their lord or daimyo. They were some of the best fighters the world had ever seen and were renowned for the code of honor they adhered to… for the most part.
Some samurai were powerful and became daimyo themselves, later finding their own samurai to hire as servants. Some of them even became shoguns – the powerful dictators who ruled the country. With such a long and varied history, we could never fully cover the extent of their exploits in just one video, but we’ll take a look at some of the most famous samurai to ever wield a katana.
