NEW 2023 Audi Q2 – Visual REVIEW interior, exterior

In terms of size, the model sits somewhere between an Audi A1 and A3. It’s slightly higher off the ground than these models, but it doesn’t tower over other road users. Its stature is somewhat meeker compared to the Q3 and Q5, which more closely align with typical SUV dimensions. Think of it as a more rugged version of the A1​.

This model can be considered the black sheep of the Audi family due to its blocky design, a departure from the company’s more traditional aesthetics. It offers a vibrant color palette and contrastive rear pillars to add visual appeal. Standard LED lights feature at both front and rear, and while there are options for larger wheels, they’re not recommended for the sake of comfort​.

Under the hood, buyers can choose between two petrol engine options. The 30 TFSI model comes with a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, delivering 108 horsepower and a top speed of 122 mph. Alternatively, the 35 TFSI model features a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 148 horsepower and capable of reaching 132 mph. The model range has a fuel efficiency rating between 43 to 48 mpg, with the entry model being the most economical​.

Four trim levels are available: Technik, Sport, S Line, and Black Edition. All models are front-wheel drive and come with standard features including 16-inch alloy wheels, a seven-inch media screen, air conditioning, parking sensors, and a powered tailgate. Pricing starts at £24,635, with the top-of-the-range Black Edition 35 TFSI model priced at £34,640​​.

Performance-wise, it delivers a reasonable driving experience. However, it’s not particularly dynamic, with even the small increase in ride height bringing a certain compromise. It corners well, but this is due to the firm suspension which relies on the tires to provide a smooth ride. The 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine has character but isn’t particularly fast, whereas the more powerful 1.5-liter engine is faster but lacks a bit of character​.
