After having a very short run in the M5 Touring, in the wet, we had this stunning M5 Sedan for a week to review – painted in the gorgeous Individual Sepia Metallic. This tester came in at $146,225 and well, it’s still a big luxurious beast, just now more comfortable as a daily. So how was it?
Things we liked:
+It looks purely epic, and everyone who knows can’t resist looking.
+Handling dynamics are impressive, despite any weight claims, it’s sharp, brakes well, and has an impressive damper control variation.
+The PHEV system is like a rocket under the hood, and has genuine EV range
Things we didn’t like:
-It is a tad heavy, noticeable really only in very dynamic situations, making this a wonderful super grand. Tourer
-At low speeds, PHEV transfer to gas from EV can be clunky at times
-Insane amount of drive modes and settings.
ACNCarScore – 8.5/10 – The new M5 may not be as pure as the last generation, but this G90 excels as a high luxury, high performance, somewhat sleeper sedan with incredible versatility in the handling, comfort, and customization options.
